Focus

I'm a little late to the party, but this article by Derek Sivers is really good. I especially like the top part, about focus. Not because I expect this advice will do anyone any good (I think you're either driven and focussed or you're not), but because it gives me insight into my own behaviour:

You're surrounded by cool tempting people, hanging out casually, telling you to relax. But the casual ones end up having casual talent and merely casual lives. Looking back, my only Berklee classmates that got successful were the ones who were fiercely focused, determined, and undistractable. [...] When you emerge in a few years, you can ask someone what you missed, and you'll find it can be summed up in a few minutes. The rest was noise you'll be proud you avoided.

Ironically, I read this because I was distracted from real work.

I'm CEO at Tailscale, where we make network problems disappear.
